What can i give a cat for pain

My cat is starting to act like he is in pain. He will try to hide, roll around and whine. He is a 10 year old male. I've give him a small dog pain killer (Durogesic). He's been on it for a day and a half now. It seems to make him feel better. I'm worried it will make him worse. I don't want to give him a shot. What can i give him for pain?

Ask your vet if he can give him something for pain. Durogesic is a good pain killer. It's a topical medication that can be applied to the skin and worn around the neck. Do not give your cat a pain killer without first consulting your vet.
