What do you think the cat's bowl symbolizes

I'm guessing the cat is a symbol for the catchers, or maybe the fact that they are both the same color. Maybe the bowl itself is the catcher's mitt?

Maybe it is just a bowl of food? Maybe it represents what they both eat? Maybe they eat the same food?

I also have a question: In the first screenshot, the cat is on the left, and the catcher is on the right. I know this is technically not a question, but I couldn't figure out why the cat is on the left. Is it meant to be like this or is it just a mistake?

I apologize for the long post, but I felt I needed to ask these questions.
