How do i know what breed my cat is
If you have a cat, you have a good idea of its breed. But to be certain, you need a DNA test.
Dogs that have been tested for DNA are called Canine DNA profiles.
Dogs that have not been DNA tested are called Genetic profiles.
Cats that have been DNA tested are called Cat DNA profiles.
There are two types of DNA tests.
A Simple DNA Test:
A simple DNA test is used to determine if two cats are related.
For example, two Siamese cats are related.
A Complex DNA Test:
A complex DNA test is used to determine what breed a cat is. The test compares the DNA of a cat with known breeds.
A DNA test is used to determine the physical traits of a cat. This include, but is not limited to, eye color, stripe pattern and coat colors.
The DNA of a cat is analyzed and compared to the DNA of various breeds of cats.
A DNA test does not tell you what a cat is.
A DNA test only tells you if two cats are related.
