What are cats trying to say when they meow

Meows are a language of their own, but cats and dogs use the same vocal “words.” The English word “meow” is the same as the cat’s “miaow” and the dog’s “mew.” This is because of the grammar and syntax used by these two animals, and because of their similar anatomy.
