How to tell what worms your cat has

You can tell what worms your cat has by a few methods.

First, if you are positive that your cat has worms and you have any of these parasites on your pet, you can ask your vet to give your cat an examination. This is especially true if you have not seen your cat for a while.

You can also perform a fecal exam on your cat. This exam is very simple and can be practiced on your cat if you are with someone who is experienced with this exam.

You will need a stool sample, a container to put the stool sample in, and a clean, soft cloth.

To perform the fecal exam, begin by taking the stool sample in a container and putting it in the refrigerator until you are ready to take the exam. Then, take the sample out of the refrigerator and put it in the container.

This is the same type of container you use for storing the sample for your veterinarian.

After the sample has been placed in the container, take the soft cloth and lightly wipe the outside of the container to free up the outside of the container.

Once you have wiped the container, use your clean hands to place a small amount of the sample on the cloth.

You should use the amount of sample that is the same as the amount of sample that you would use for the fecal exam with your veterinarian. This is typically a small amount less than half of the amount of sample used.

Once the sample is on the cloth, take the container and put it in a warm bath.

You can use any warm bath, but you may find that using a water heater makes the bath a little more pleasant.

For the bath, you will want a large tub filled with about an inch of warm water.

After you have put the container in the tub, you will want to agitate the container by swirling it around in the tub.

Make sure that you do not keep the container in the water for more than one minute.

After you have placed the container in the tub, you will want to take the cloth and squeeze off any excess water that has covered the cloth.

Place the cloth in a dry area and let the sample dry.

Once the sample is dry, put it in a container and take it to your veterinarian.

You will require this type of exam only if you have a strong suspicion that your cat has worms. If you have not had a fecal exam in a while, you should consider getting one before you go to your veterinarian.

Roundworms look like spaghetti: long and smooth and about the same diameter as a strand of pasta. An adult roundworm is usually just three to six inches long.[20] X Research source Small Animal Internal Medicine. Read more
